🍁Here's October's Fun Volunteer Opportunity! We need outdoor helpers at our tent at the Marietta HarvestFest Saturday, October 15th, 2022 9:00 AM to 5:00PM.
🎃 We will be located in the "touch a truck" section where we will be inviting the public into our tent to create "Kindness Rocks". These Kindness Rocks will be given out on World Kindness Day in November by KIDS CARE volunteers.
😊This is a great opportunity for youth to practice public speaking skills while encouraging Kindness. If your youth is/are not comfortable with speaking to the public they can assist at the art tables by restocking supplies, offering small suggestions & moving finished artwork. #servicelearning
🎃KIDS CARE Volunteers at HarvestFest will:
*help ask the public if they would like to join us to create Kindness
*tend to the rock painting stations
*and/or help with set up/tear down (if volunteering at beginning/end).
🧡Special Note: We would like a maximum of 6 people in the tent helping out per hour. Event will be from 9 am - 5 pm. Please RSVP for one to two hour blocks at a time.
🍰BONUS: There are lots of other fun activities that you can explore before or after volunteering with KIDS CARE (including pie eating contest, costume contest & arts/crafts vendors). Check out this link with all the details: https://www.mariettaga.gov/1258/Harvest-Fest
Hope to see ya there! 😊
Glover Park at Historic Marietta Square, 50 N Park Square NE Marietta, GA 30060
Saturday, 9/24/22 from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm at Laurel Park: 151 Manning Rd SW, Marietta, GA 30060.
Join us & we generate ideas for our next youth service experience. We will start with a group planning session to create service ideas for the next few months. Please ask your youth to bring their ideas & voices as they will have the opportunity to express their desires & ideas on how/who they would like to serve for the next few months.
After the planning session we will spread out for a litter pick up and see how Laurel Park is looking - it has been a while since we have been there so let's allow the youth to take their passion & litter sticks to clean up the area. (All family members are welcome to participate). Litter pick up will be followed by a short environmental talk while the youth have a few snacks.
If your family has time please feel free at the end to allow them some play time on the playground or a nice family walk in the clean park! ALL AGES WELCOME! This time must be supervised by parent or guardian.
Please have youth wear comfortable clothes & shoes to move about the park in. Water and light snacks will be provided. If you have gloves that you would like to bring for litter pick up please feel free to bring them.
One way to volunteer from home is to consider creating Kindness Cards and/or Letters for our local First Responders and local hospital staff. All ages are encouraged to participate and take time to show that you care. Simply choose & create HANDMADE CARDS for whom you feel motivated to say "Thank You" too.
KINDNESS CARDS CAN BE MADE FOR:
*ALL HOSPITAL STAFF = Clinical Care Partners, Respiratory Therapists, Environmental Services, Facility Engineering, Supply & distribution techs, Dietary Liaisons, Pharmacists & pharmacy techs, Transportation, Imaging Specialists & techs, Phlebotomists, Laboratory specialists, Dietitians, Physical Therapists and occupational therapists, Doctors, Nurses, and Security staff.
*FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL
*POLICE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL
*911 DISPATCH CENTER
Cards should be encouraging & show gratitude for their service. KIDS CARE will separate the collected cards and deliver them to the appropriate recipients within Cobb County.
Questions/comments/volunteers can email: email@example.com.
KINDNESS CARDS that are created by Individuals and/or groups will be collected & delivered to local First Responder's. All ages are encouraged to donate homemade CARDS, LETTERS, POSTERS and/or COLORING'S.
