They had read the news article (https://patch.com/.../marietta-girl-9-sends-nearly-800...) about Jaida and were so moved by her heart and her actions that they needed to recognize her.
They awarded her with a "Certificate of Honor in recognition for her selfless acts to include the coordination of holiday cards for military service members and continued commitment to the preservation of American patriotism."
