A video recap of the KINDNESS CARDS we delivered during the 2020 pandemic.
Take a quick peek at some of the cards that were given in 2020 for a great example of what to create today!
Gather together soft fleece (anti-pill) material and spend time creating a soft, comforting blanket to donate. Our blankets range in different sizes. A common size is 1.5 yards by 1.5 yards of fabric. You will also need a ruler and scissors. That's it!
This is a great family project to work on together. For us, some blankets took us around 40 minute's to complete. Any hours spent on this at home can be signed off for service hours by KIDS CARE when the blankets are given to us.
We typically have different programs running throughout the year and the blankets can benefit these programs or they may be delivered on a special as need basis as we monitor our communities' needs.
In collaboration with Building Strong Horizons, we have donated 134 no-sew blankets to children battling cancer at CHOA Scottish-Rite in Atlanta. We look forward to giving more comfort to other vulnerable populations. Perhaps even gifting some blankets to our local homeless community members. You can watch a short video on our YouTube channel to see us at work: https://youtube.com/shorts/TTW19pch6Yw?feature=share
Have a question or want to get in touch? We'd love to hear from you. Contact us today and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. We can also arrange for a pick up or meet for a delivery of your generous donations.
This is a really great service to do with children of all ages.
KIDS CARE would like to encourage individuals & families to be a great Kindster & volunteer in your own neighborhoods to collect non-perishable food items.
You choose! However you want to do it and whichever way you prefer to collect. Collect from within your neighborhood and social network. Have friends, family and co-workers drop off their donated food items to your door or mailbox. Food can be donated to your charity of choice or we can help guide you on how to deliver to one of the organizations we deliver to. Give it a Go & see how much you can collect to GIVE TO OTHERS IN NEED!
Let's see what you can do! Challenge your friends, challenge your neighbors! This a great way to participate in community service in which you can safely give back to our local community. Have fun - post on social media, set your own goals, and HELP US make an IMPACT!!
