2024 school supply drive Recap

589 Backpacks. 🎒 Our "Backing the Need" program donated to local students in need in 2024.

$47,757.45 is the estimated value of new school supplies that our community collected & donated to students in need this past July.

Thank you to all the generous hearts & hard working hands who helped us achieve this great, big helping of Kindness for local students.

589 new backpacks with school supplies were donated to the following nonprofits who passed on our love: -Communities In Schools -Ser Familia -The Center for Children & Young Adults -LiveSafe Resources -Center for Family Resources -Simple Needs GA -Cool Kids Committee

Some of this years supplies included: 9,172 Crayons. 4,676 Pencils. 4,025 Colored Pencils. 3,225 Markers. 1,985 Pens. 1,169 Glue Sticks. 1,162 Pink Erasers. 1,051 Highlighters. 675 Spiral Notebooks. 619 Folders. 446 Packs of Paper. 413 Composition Notebooks. 325 Rulers. 320 Scissors. 277 USB Drives. 250 Calculators and more!

In partnership with the Cobb County Police Dept, our "Backing the Need" program has now gifted a total of 1,963 new backpacks, with school supplies, to students in need over the past four years. This could not happen without our fabulous volunteers, donors & business participants! Thank you, everyone!!

Sharing Love & Positive Energy. Creating Kindness. Being Community. What a beautiful day watching families, friends & individuals serve together for the greater good. What a beautiful day watching them catch their own light, leaving tired from hard work and feeling full of PRIDE & LOVE. It's always a good day when our hands & hearts are serving others.

Service fills you with Joy, Happiness and a true sense of accomplishment. It's fun too! (And always a wonderful learning opportunity.)

Thank you to all our volunteers who came together to make this such a great day! We at KIDS CARE have made a life of service and are forever grateful to the family, friends and community who have chosen to join us.

Meeting Rose, the county's comfort dog.

Paws-itively Perfect! Meeting Rose was such a sweet part of the day while we packed backpacks in July! Rose is the Cobb County District Attorney's Comfort Dog. Together, with her incredibly Kind handler, Angela Thorne, they serve to offer comfort to criminal victims of all ages during their criminal justice journey. 🐾💙 🌹

What a special duo these two are & what a blessing they give to people during very trying times in their lives. Thank you to Rose, Angela, and the DA's office for all you do for our community and for supporting KIDS CARE school supply drive.🐾💙 🌹

Our volunteers were blessed to share some very special moments with Rose. Together with her handler, they were an absolute delight to have layered into our already awesome day. Rose's calm and comforting energy radiated from her, creating lots of big Heartfelt Smiles.

Thank you to both Rose & Angela for your time, your comfort, your Kindness, your patience, your long work hours and all your Love. 🐾💙🌹 Rose is such a blessing to our community and we're so grateful we got to spend a little time with her and Angela. Thank you to the Cobb County Govt. for seeding, supporting and growing Love and Comfort here in Cobb County.

We are so excited & happy to announce our 4th year collaborating with the Cobb County Police Department for our "Backing the Need" School Supply Drive!

SAVE THE DATE: July 20th Drive by Drop off donations at the Cobb County Civic Center from 9 am - 1 pm.

It takes a village!

Last year we collected and delivered 755 Backpacks. In total for the past three years we have donated a total of 1,374 new backpacks stuffed with school supplies to students in need in Cobb County. We look forward to giving support this year too. WE NEED OUR COMMUNITIES HEART, COMPASSION & TIME - AGAIN!
