One of our youth's community service desire was to make waffles for first responders. So we did! And it was forever memorable. Yet we also added an additional service that is near and dear to the fire departments hearts...we helped them raise funds for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation. We joined with them to help them reach their goals.
We've had one in service day of working with Cobb County Fire Station 4 to collect donations. We raised a total of $978.52. As we currently setting up our next opportunity to help collect funds in person, and we now are asking for on-line support as well.
The GFBF partners with the fire service and burn care community to provide fire safety and prevention education, support medical facilities and assist burn survivors in their recovery.
All financial donations will be given to the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation & the Cobb County Fire Department. 90% of funds raised will go to the Georgia Firefighter's Burn Foundation to support burn survivor's and 10% of all funds raised will return to the Cobb Fire Department for use in their fire/burn prevention program.
Now - Dec. 2nd, we are collecting clean, aluminum cans. These cans will be recycled into funds that will be donated to the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation "Give Burns the Boots". Please follow along on social media for drop off locations. 1st one is Nov. 9th at Jim Miller Park, 9 am - 1 pm, at Keep Cobb Beautiful's Community Recycling Event.
