This event will be held at Laurel Park - 151 Manning RD SW, Marietta, GA. For future events we do plan to rotate around parks in Cobb County. Below are some past events that our volunteers have participated in.
Do the youth in your life have community service ideas? Are they passionate about picking up litter? Bring your youth (all ages - 18) to our meet up on April 16th at Laurel Park in Marietta from 4:30 - 6:00.
KIDS CARE will be hosting a youth planning session on community service. We will discuss what community service is and why & how we do it. We will listen to their ideas on how they want to give back to the community and who they want to help. Their input will be heard and will influence our choice for our next big service project.
KIDS CARE will also briefly discuss environmental awareness as we hand out our litter picking tools and get to work! We will spend some time cleaning up the local park of litter, then we will evaluate what we found and discuss it.
Lastly, the youth get to have some pizza/snacks & water. At this time we will invite the youth to have some free time to play on the playground, go for a walk around the park or find a nice sitting spot to relax. (PARENTS MUST SUPERVISE THEIR YOUTH'S FREE TIME IN THE PARK).
Please email us with your families reservation (# youth & adults) at so we can plan accordingly for pizza & litter picking supplies. Thank you.

Calling Local Earth Heroes...
Cautiously, carefully & eagerly we will gather outside (social distance style) to use our superpowers to clean up Laurel Park of damaging ground/water litter. This is a fantastic opportunity for families/teens to volunteer in their community. Volunteers will observe first hand how & where litter is impacting our local environment.
Litter sticks, buckets, gloves, hand sanitizer and garbage bags will be provided.
We ask for you to bring your own masks for each participant to be used when you are near others.
We ask all participants to adhere to the 6 foot social distancing guidelines even while outside.
We ask that you stay with your group while litter picking.
Please bring your own drinks. Drinks and pizza will not be provided at this park pick up due to the nature of COVID19.
All ages welcome. Most appropriate for ages 5 & up. Families encouraged. Teenagers wanted. Excellent outdoor volunteer opportunity.
This outdoor event is limited to 20 individuals. Please reserve your spots through Facebook or through email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Questions can be sent via email to: email@example.com.
Hope to see you there - we miss keeping an eye on local parks and are ready for more picking action & environmental awareness.
